Birmingham Squadron G League basketball team back in action
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham Squadron is back for a 2022-2023 Season! The Squadron is an NBA G-League team (formally the NBA D-League) and is owned and operated by the New Orleans Pelicans NBA team.聽 This is the Squadron鈥檚 second season and they are hoping for great success and lots of support from their community.
The Birmingham Squadron is part of the G-League Western Conference. This season their conference opponents include, the Austin Spurs, the Iowa Wolves, the Memphis Hustle, the Oklahoma City Blue, the Salt Lake City Stars and many other teams from around the country.
The Birmingham Squadron will host 24 home games at Legacy Arena, tipping off with the season opener on November 6th against the Lakeland Magic. The Squadron鈥檚 season will include 50 total regular season games.
The NBA G-League begins with an 18-game Showcase Cup before the annual December-Winter Showcase in Las Vegas during the in-season NBA scouting event.
The regular season for the Birmingham Squadron gets exciting when the NBA G-League teams鈥� records reset and include only the final 32 games that will conclude with the league鈥檚 playoff.
