J.H. Rose鈥檚 Michael Allen suiting up for NC State
GREENVILLE, N.C. (BVM) 鈥� Student-athletes around the country compete daily to prove they can compete at the next level. J.H. Rose鈥檚 Michael Allen has already done that.聽
At 5-foot-9, 200 pounds, Allen helped lead the Rampants to an 11-5 overall record during his senior campaign in 2021. They would make it to the second round of the state playoffs but ultimately fell to Dudley. During that season, though, the Rampants put , and Allen was a leading proponent for that. Allen accumulated nearly 2,000 of those all-purpose yards himself.聽

Following his final high school, Chernasky was eager to continue his football career. He鈥檇 get that chance to do just that as he had a number of teams, including Wisconsin, East Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and NC State interested in his services. Allen decided to stay in state and commit to the Wolfpack at NC State.聽

鈥淗e鈥檚 [running backs coach Kurt Roper] been telling me I鈥檇 have a chance to come in and compete for early playing time, which is a huge deal for me,鈥� Allen . 鈥淚 like how he鈥檚 straight to the point. He doesn鈥檛 beat around the bush, which I love, and he鈥檚 very truthful.鈥�
Along with a successful career on the gridiron, Allen also excelled in other sports like baseball and track and field. During his junior year, Allen was part of a state championship baseball team at Rose. Allen also ran his best time of 10.7 in the 100m dash during his prep career.聽
For Allen, it鈥檚 an exciting time as his collegiate career is just underway. In fact, he got his first game action in NC State鈥檚 week four game against UConn. He rushed the ball 10 times for 66 yards, and he also caught two passes for six yards. Allen will aim to excel when given the opportunity, but for now, he will do his best to help the Wolfpack compete for an ACC championship.聽
