Powdersville Patriot swimming girls and boys teams win Region 2-AAA Championship
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Powdersville Patriot Swimming Girls and Boys teams are both Region 2-AAA Champions after an exciting meet at the Greenville Aquatic Center.聽 This is the first time we have had a Regional Swim Meet in the 5 years that Powdersville has had a swim team! We are the 1st Region Champions for Region 2-AAA.
The Girls team had many amazing swims today.聽 Senior Peyton Stafford is your region champion in the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle.聽 Sophomore Wrenn West came in 2nd place in the 100 yard butterfly.聽 Sophomore Emma Cree came in second in both the 100 yard backstroke and the 100 yard breaststroke.
The Boys team had quite the showing.聽 The boys took home 1st (Yury Yurko, Josh Wilder, Brady Bowman, and Landon Stafford) and 2nd (Jakob Place, Konner Wacenske, Parker McCranie, and Mark Middleton) in the 200 yard Medley Relay, and 1st place in the Boys 400 yard Freestyle relay (Landon, Josh, Brady, Yury).
Individually, we had many Region Champions:聽 1st place in the boys 200 Individual Medley and 100 yard Breaststroke was 8th grader Josh Wilder. Sophomore Landon Stafford took home first place in the boys 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle.聽 Sophomore Yury Yurko is 1st in the 100 yard backstroke and 2nd place in the 50 yard freestyle.聽 Sophomore Brady Bowman is our Region Champion in the 500 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly.聽 These swimmers have done an incredible job so far.聽 Our final meet is our State Championship on October 8th and the University of South Carolina Blatt Natatorium.
