Zack Martin, Mark Clayton top Indianapolis’ 10 best NFL stars

1. Zack Martin, OL, Bishop Chatard

Martin may not play the sexiest position in football, but his impact since entering the NFL has been immense. Martin, along with his brother Nick – who is also an NFL center for the New Orleans Saints – grew up in Indianapolis and played high school football at Bishop Chatard. Zack was a first-team all-state selection in both his junior and senior seasons, and helped Bishop Chatard to back-to-back state championships in 2006 and 2007 as a two-way player.

From there, the four-star recruit stayed in state to play for Notre Dame where he became one of the premier linemen in college football. Selected No. 16 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, Zack quickly became a staple of a dominant Cowboys’ offensive line through the last half of the 2010s. Zack has made the Pro Bowl in seven of his eight seasons in the pros, with the only exception being an injury-marred 2020 campaign. The Cowboys’ right guard is also a seven-time All-Pro selection and will look to continue contributing to Dallas’ recent success.
