During his time at H.D. Woodson, Leftwich was an all-around athlete as he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. As a senior, the Washington Post awarded him to the All-Met football team. Leftwich went on to attend and start at Marshall University. He threw for 11,903 yards, 89 touchdown passes and had a passer rating of 150.9. While at Marshall, he was most known for after he had broken his left tibia. Following his time with the Thundering Herd, Leftwich was drafted with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played for nine seasons, registering 10,532 passing yards and 58 TDs. Leftwich is currently the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
