1. Reuben Owens, Sr., El Campo聽
The No. 2-ranked player in the state of Texas for the Class of 2023 is also the best running back in the state. Owens鈥� led the state of Texas in rushing yards last year with 2,989 yards. Along with that he had 46 rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns and 252 receiving yards, giving over 3,000 all-purpose yards as a junior. The El Campo High School senior enters this season as a first-team All-American and the reigning District 12-4A D-I Overall MVP. Last year, Owens helped the Ricebirds make it to regionals and with the Louisville commit returning for his senior season El Campo will be a must-watch team.
