Top 10 Minnesota HS football players in Class of 2023
1. Jaxon Howard, Edge – Robbinsdale Cooper
In July, Jaxon Howard announced he was verbally committing to LSU, ending a recruiting process that involved 60 DI offers. Now Howard can focus solely on football, which is bad news for opposing offenses. Robbinsdale Cooper High School went 9-3 last season and made an appearance in the MSHSL Class AAAAA State Semifinal game with the help of Howard. It was the furthest any Hawks football team had ever gone in the MSHSL playoffs. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound outside linebacker had 50 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and six sacks last season for the Hawks, earning him honors. Howard even stepped up and played quarterback in the state semifinal game after Cooper quarterback Joe Russell was injured in the state quarterfinal game and had to have emergency surgery on his lower leg. Howard will look to get the Hawks back to the state tournament and finish what they started last year.聽
