Sandpoint High School鈥檚 new wrestling coach Scot Davis hosts youth camp
SANDPOINT, Idaho — Twenty-five kids took to the mats the mornings of July 15 and 16 to expand their wrestling knowledge and experience. New Sandpoint High School wrestling coach Scot Davis demonstrated moves and led the youngsters through high-schoolers with the help of some of the youth wrestling coaches from Sandpoint Middle School and local wrestling clubs.
Scot Davis and his wife Mary had been visiting Sandpoint since the 1970s when Mary鈥檚 brother built his home here. They always thought it would be great if a coaching position came up and were thrilled when it finally did this spring. Now the two-time National Coach of the Year Award winner (as well as many other accolades) is bringing his strategy to Sandpoint. While no wrestler will argue about wrestling being a tough and demanding sport, Coach Davis likes to keep it fun and give the team opportunities to bond.
