Cornwall youth seeing years of karate experience pay off
CORNWALL, Ontario. — Mohammad used to live in Cornwall, but at the beginning of the pandemic his family moved to Nova Scotia. He started karate in 2018 and transitioned to online classes in 2019 along with all Wattie Karate聽students. Now all local students have returned to the dojo, and Mohammad聽continues to train online as he works towards higher rank. Taking聽classes online isn’t easy, but he has stayed determined. In May, 2022聽Mohammad and his family made the trip back to Cornwall for a visit,聽where he would take a belt exam. Mohammad earned his Blue Belt alongside聽fellow student Harmony, while Pat earned her Green Belt. The trio聽demonstrated advanced technique, traditional kata, sparring, board聽breaking and more during their four-hour exam. Congratulations to all聽three!
