Allen D. Nease High School tennis player Kylie Kochis has goal of playing in college
PONTE VEDRA, Fla. — Fifteen year old Kylie Kochis has participated in several sports, including basketball, gymnastics, golf, and swimming. This rising Sophomore has most recently focused her efforts on tennis, a sport in which she has been playing for close to twelve years. Kylie loves the competitiveness of the sport!
Kylie鈥檚 long term goal is to play Division 1 Tennis in the NCAA after graduating from Allen D. Nease High School in 2025. When asked what her biggest challenge was, she responded with, 鈥淭he hardest part of being a competitive athlete is finding the right balance between playing tennis and socializing with friends.鈥� When you dream big, you have to manage your priorities. When she is not on the tennis courts, Kylie enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as playing other sports for fun.
Following the best advice she was ever given, Kylie focuses on getting one percent better every day. Prior to each match, she listens to music, thinks about what she needs to do, and makes certain she is in the right mindset. Although tennis can feel like an individual sport, Kylie appreciates the support and encouragement she receives from being part of a team. Mistakes are inevitable, but Kylie sums her outlook up quite simply, 鈥淭he mistake is now in the past. Learn from it, make small adjustments, and fix it as quickly as possible as you continue to move forward.鈥�
