Niwot tennis players serving up positivity and friendship
NIWOT, Colo. — This past year, both of my girls played with the Niwot Girls’ Tennis Team. They finished up their season with a strong presence at regionals, unfortunately not making it to state. Looking back on a season of practices and tournaments, nothing equals the teamwork and friendship that develops in a team of positive players. I have really appreciated how kind the girls are to each other – they are always supporting and cheering each other on.
My daughter, Claire, is a senior and is finishing tennis, having played since her freshman year. The skills she’s learned in this sport she can take with her for the rest of her life. She played in 4 Doubles and hoped to qualify for state, but they were up against some really good teams in the division. Even though she didn’t go all the way, her team gave it their all, and she can look back with fond memories of her experience and the comradery she felt. She has truly loved playing with this team!
Katherine is a freshman and started playing over the summer (Niwot HS has a great summer camp for tennis) and this year was her first year playing for Niwot, on the Junior Varsity Team. She looks forward to several more years, building her skills and experience on the court.
Our kids didn鈥檛 participate in sports much before this, and we are enjoying this new thing of being a sports family for a few months each year. It’s been so fun to see our girls progress and enjoy playing tennis, as well as the community of families and players that come together to support each other.
