Jefferson High鈥檚 rising softball star
JEFFERSON, Ga. — Natalie Beck is a rising star in the sport of softball. She has been playing for seven years and is tough as nails. She just finished her freshman year at Jefferson High School where she was on the varsity softball team. Natalie also plays for the EC Bullets Colvin.
鈥淢y biggest challenge is managing time between school, practice and games,鈥� shares Natalie, 鈥淚 manage this challenge by putting school first.鈥�
Living by the well-received advice to give 110% all the time, Natalie is enjoying all the opportunities softball brings into her life. 鈥淚 have made long lasting friendships and traveled the southeast.鈥�
Natalie has three more years to catch college recruiters鈥� eyes, and she aims to do just that. She is a team player that never brings a bad attitude to the dugout. Natalie speaks about playing for the person next to her; a coach鈥檚 dream to have that kind of mentality.
She is also able to learn from in game experiences. Natalie shares, 鈥淚 once watched a third strike go by in a good at bat. I realized to never leave it up to the umpire!鈥�
Though a big presence on the softball field, Natalie is an introvert at heart. 鈥淏ut once I get to know someone, I am very loyal and fun to be around,鈥� she adds. Her favorite pregame snack is Nutella and she likes to listen to Drake to get into game mode.
In summary, Natalie says 鈥淪oftball is a mental sport. Most of the mistakes you make are going to be mental errors.鈥� She knows how to keep her head in the game and is an athlete on the rise!
