Growing up, Dodson never really thought about playing football, let alone kicking. From the age of 4, Dodson only played one sport: soccer. So when football became an interest of his, he wanted to be out there and be 鈥渢he guy.鈥
鈥淚 really didn鈥檛 [desire to be] a kicker,鈥 Dodson said. 鈥淚 kind of always wanted to be a receiver, quarterback or even a defensive back. I tried out kicking and found out I was good. It took off from there.鈥
As Dodson continued to grow as a kicker and punter, so did his teammates around him. And Dodson got to be a part of some exceptional Argyle football teams, most notably during his junior year when the Eagles went 16-0. During that season, he scored a total of 113 points and made 96% of his PATs, according to . Dodson, an ambidextrous punter, averaged 44.5 yards per punt with his left foot and 39 yards with his right foot.

Once Dodson鈥檚 football career started, one would think that soccer would have taken a backseat. But he has continued to play soccer and has excelled at it for Argyle.

As a senior, Dodson is looking forward to his future in football. That will be taking place at Emporia State University in Kansas. Playing football has always been a dream of Dodson鈥檚, and the hornets are giving him that chance to do so.
鈥淚 just thought it was a great opportunity,鈥 Dodson said. 鈥淚t felt like a spot where I鈥榙 [really fit] in.鈥
Dodson has been a great special teams player for Argyle. He has proven that and will aim to continue to be a standout special teams addition for the Emporia State Hornets. Dodson definitely has the means to succeed at the college level, and he will be forever grateful for his time at Argyle.聽

鈥淢y time in Argyle was one of the best things that could’ve happened to me,鈥 Dodson said. 鈥淓verything that happened here in Argyle was for the better. I think the reason I鈥檓 playing college football is because I moved to Argyle. Argyle is just a special place for football players.鈥
