Four athletes from Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy sign letters of intent

CINCINNATI, Ohio. — Four Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy student-athletes signed letters of intent to play in college next year, in a ceremony April 27, at CHCA鈥檚 Martha S. Lindner Upper School, bringing to 12 the number of Eagles who have committed this year.

Colin Ames of South Lebanon signed to play baseball with Gulf Coastal State College in Panama City, Florida. Ames was a 2019 Honorable Mention All-Miami Valley Conference, 2021 first-team All-MVC, Prep Baseball Report All-Ohio, and a 2021 state champion.

鈥淐olin is a guy who has worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity to play at the next level,鈥 CHCA head baseball coach Tony Schulz said. 鈥淕ulf Coastal State is getting an absolute steal here and I know he鈥檚 going to do amazing things for the Commodores.鈥

Claire Mitchell of Montgomery signed for cheerleading with Butler University聽 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Head Cheerleading coach Missy said, 鈥淐laire is a wonderful, beautiful person inside and out. She is a true leader and being helpful is one of her finest qualities. Claire is always willing to help with whatever is needed and when she sees a teammate struggling to keep up, she always offers to help them. She will be a great asset to the Butler squad, and I expect great things from her.鈥

Carmen Soloria of West Chester Township signed to play volleyball with Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. Soloria, team captain, was part of several historical events at CHCA. She was a member of a three-time state final four run for the volleyball program, and smashed a shot put record (33 feet, 9 inches) in track and field. During the 2021 season, Soloria was first-team All-MVC, Southwest District Player of the Year, second-team All-Ohio, and participated in the Ohio All-Star match. She was a three-year All-Academic team member as well as part of National Honor Society and obtained a Presidential Award for volunteering.

CHCA volleyball coach Lisa Schaad said, 鈥淏eyond the accolades, Carmen is a representation of what a 360 athlete means and will make an impact for Christ at Anderson. She has always strived to be a better version of herself every day, whether that is in sports or walking the halls of CHCA. Carmen is a role model for the youth as well as her peers. Her parents, siblings, friends, and I all support Carmen’s passion and are very happy to have been part of her journey in making the decision to pursue academics and athletics at Anderson.

Jack Vogele of Loveland signed to play baseball with University of Cincinnati. An outstanding center fielder, Vogele was a 2021 first-team All-MVC selection, first-team All-City, first-team All-Academic, PBR All Ohio, and a 2021 state champion.

鈥淛ack鈥檚 a special kid 鈥 everyone loves him,鈥 Schulz said. 鈥淗e is always positive and always smiling. More importantly, his teammates love him.鈥

These four students join Caden Crawford, Will Murphy, Cooper Robinson, Griffin Max, Finley Payne, Jessey Li, Mary Jones, and Ava Kraft, who signed with colleges earlier this year.
