WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. — Head coach, Josh Spuhl and his team of coaches at Webster Groves High — Marcus Black, Jay Blossom, Scott Stallcup, Robert Jasckson, Kevin Wener, and Patti Perkins — had five seniors on the team this year. They鈥檝e all played together for some time.
For the first time in the history of the program, they made it to State this year.
Their goal this year was to make it to the Final Four, and the team did not disappoint. The team Captains, Ellie Paloucek and Jenna Clark really pulled the team together.
The girls have their own pregame rituals. As a staff, coaches make sure the team is prepared for every opponent.
The team is very accepting of new members. This season they had multiple freshmen playing on the varsity team, and they were very welcomed by the rest of the team.
After a win, the team enjoys doing the DUB G dance with the cheerleaders. Their team had the most wins in a single season, at 25. Jenna Clark broke the single season 3-point record with 70. Eliza Maupin scored over 1000 points and 700 rebounds. Ellie Paloucek also scored over 1000 points.
This team is made up of a group of competitive fun-loving young ladies. They drove each other to compete and improve themselves every day. They LOVE this team and the program.
