Mason Kuck: An accomplished thrower on the New Bremen T&F team
NEW BREMEN, Ohio — A senior at New Bremen High School, Mason Kuck, is an accomplished thrower on his school鈥檚 track team. He has been a member of the team all throughout his junior high and high school years, beginning his throwing career in the 7th grade. An avid athlete, who has had involvement in track, swim, and football, Kuck has a passion for sports that has taken him far in the competitive world of high school athletics.

Mason has worked hard to develop his form when it comes to throwing shotput and discus. He mentions that learning new elements of the form can be challenging, but continuing to work hard has helped him to reach his goals. He finds that he is always learning new things to help better his form, so he must always be willing to make changes. Within his high school career, Kuck has qualified for the regional finals and placed 6th overall鈥 an impressive accomplishment amongst the stiff competition within the field events in our area鈥檚 track teams.
When asked what he enjoys most about track, Kuck explains that he appreciates the individualistic pace that the sport provides. A sport like track allows you to focus on your own event, while also being a member of a team: 鈥渟omething bigger than yourself.鈥 He鈥檚 learned that part of being on a team is relying on your teammates to be there for support and guidance, while also continually being there for them. He finds the balance within track to create a unique and positive environment that not all sports are able to provide.
Outside of track, Mason enjoys keeping busy by hanging out with friends, being outside, and of course鈥 playing sports. After high school, he plans on working for his family business (New Bremen Insurance Agency). As a senior, Kuck is entering his final track season to conclude his聽high school career. The goal of a state appearance is one he鈥檚 always reaching for, but Mason emphasizes the importance of 鈥渢aking it one step at a time.鈥 He plans to go out and work hard, knowing that he gave it everything he had.
