Beavercreek High鈥檚 new softball field nearing completion
BEAVERCREEK, Ohio — The Beavercreek High School Softball 鈥淔ield of Dreams鈥 is still very much alive, and close to being playable for this season!聽 Final preparations are being made in an effort to begin play on the brand new field by Ferguson Hall.聽 This project has been a long time coming, and finally has become close to becoming a reality for this year鈥檚 squad.
This project would not be possible without the many amazing donors and companies who have worked tirelessly to help make the field a reality.聽 Donors include: Pinnacle Architects, Bilbrey Construction, Beavercreek Fastpitch Association with the help of Mr. and Mrs. McPeak, The Ott Family, James Investment Research, All Star Fence, Beck Law, Tony Ramsey with Elite Chimney Solutions, & Masonry, Mr. Joseph Jenkins, upcoming politician and local business owner of Jenkins Community Development, Bede Hardscaping and Concrete, and many others have been pivotal in the implementation of this project and it would not be possible without them.
The program efforts to raise funds have been gallant, but are not done yet.聽 With one of their larger supporters pulling out in the beginning of fall, the softball program is in need of more donors to assist in finishing the project.
鈥淲e鈥檝e begun practicing on the field, and each time we are out there, the girls get more and more excited鈥, head coach Megan Barrett indicated when discussing the excitement behind the new field for the team.
It鈥檚 definitely a cause that many companies want to be a part of, they may just not know it yet!聽 Senior second baseman Shelby Metzger referred to the Beavercreek Field of Dreams as a personal dream come true.
鈥淗aving a field of our own means that I, and the girls who follow after me, get the honor of playing somewhere that my teammates and I have devotedly worked towards. What is truly special about having a field on campus is knowing that it represents all of our dedication and success, as well as the future achievements that will follow in the program for many years to come.鈥.
If anyone is able or willing to help with finishing up this amazing project for our community, please reach out to Head Coach Megan Barrett at 513-304-1886 or via email at [email protected].
