Luke Babbitt named head boys basketball coach at Bishop Manogue
RENO, Nev. — Bishop Manogue has officially named Luke Babbitt as its boys basketball coach. Babbitt, is the most accomplished men’s basketball player to come out of Northern Nevada thus far.
Babbitt commented in a press release, “I鈥檓 extremely grateful for the opportunity to be the next boys head basketball coach at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School.
鈥淏ishop Manogue鈥檚 academics and athletics are second to none and I鈥檓 looking forward to building on a great foundation and basketball program. The skills I learned throughout my career, both on and off the court, are something I鈥檓 excited to share with the next generation.鈥
Babbitt will become the third local high school star to run a team, joining Armon Johnson, who was McQueen High’s coach this season, and Olek Czyz, who led the Galena High program this year. Both Johnson and Czyz also played for Nevada, with Johnson being the only other local player to reach the NBA.
