Bullitt East makes history with its first-ever girls state champion
MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ky. — Mariah Gardner has been wrestling for three years and is a Bullitt East High School junior. She is the first YWCA girls wrestling state champion in school history. She has placed in the top three at states all three years. She wrestles at 145 weight class.
Emily Hendricks has been wrestling for two years. She is a junior at Bullitt East High school. Emily came in 2nd place in the 152 weight class.
Bullitt East girls wrestling team placed 11th out of 64 teams despite being the smallest team there. This is the first time they have had a female state champ in school history.
