Thompson Valley Eagles soar at national cheer competition
LOVELAND, Colo. — While eyes were on Olympic aerials in China recently, Loveland athletes were busy soaring past competitors at the ESPN Center in Orlando. Our hometown Thompson Valley High School co-ed team placed – for the THIRD year in a row – at the national cheer competition.
This year the Junior Varsity Cheer Team took first in the Colorado Spirit Coaches Assn. Invitational; the Varsity Team聽 – for the third year in a row 鈥� came in first in the class 4A division. At Nationals, the Varsity Team ranked in the top third.
Shari Robinson, Casssie Doecher and Christy Goldberg (all educators in the Thompson School District) coach 41 participants in varsity and junior varsity teams.聽 They are super proud of these athletes.
鈥淥ur Cheer Teams just keep getting better, constantly improving their routines and stunts. These students are strong, dedicated and push through challenges.鈥�
If you attend TVHS football, volleyball or basketball games, you鈥檒l see these athletes in action. They often work some of their showy competition moves into their sideline routine.
