Hillcrest HS wrestlers compete at individual state championship
SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. — Hillcrest High School鈥檚 wrestling team won the regionals during the Greenville County Championship and Upper State Championship competitions in early February. Eight wrestlers qualified for the individual state championship held in mid-February, according to head wrestling coach, Anthony Esposito.
Those students who qualified included Tyler Grindstaff, Colton Holmes, Trent Smith, Thomas Snipes, Hunter Jagodzinski, Ethan Ellinger, Jackson Harms and Jacoreyon Byrd.
Snipers, Harms and Bryd took top ranking in the state individual championship. Runner ups were Hunter and Jagodzinksi. Smith took third place and Ellinger and Grindstaff took fourth place.
