RJ Holliday is staying busy as a three-sport athlete at Riverdale Ridge
THORNTON, Colo. —聽RJ Holliday聽has been at RRHS for two years, transferring here his junior year. He plays not one, but THREE sports: football, basketball, and track. RJ said he enjoys the family aspect that all the coaches mention consistently. On the football and basketball teams, there is an unspoken brotherhood that the team members all have. They go to practice, always work hard and get the job done. He enjoys being able to have fun with his family and brothers, grinding with hard work and enjoying it at the same time.
When not playing sports, RJ likes to spend time with family and friends. Among his five siblings, he is the second youngest. At school, he enjoy business and math class, and is part of the High School of Business at RRHS.
FOOTBALL
In football, RJ plays wide receiver, free safety, and cornerback.聽He was nominated and then selected to participate in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl in December at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas. RJ said it was a great experience, as he was able to get coached by some high-level coaches who have played in the NFL for multiple years. “It was a cool experience to play against and alongside some of the best players in America,” said RJ.
BASKETBALL
In basketball, his positions are guard and shooting guard.聽Their team has been playing really well, and they were proud to beat Prairie View this season (another school in the district)!
TRACK
In track, RJ ran the 100, the 4-by-1, and long jump. Last year, their 4×1 track team made it to state and placed 7th!
