Kylie Koeninger鈥檚 impact on the Campbell County court remains after injury
ALEXANDRIA, Ky. — Campbell County High’s Kylie Koeninger has been playing high school basketball since she was in 7th grade. Just like every basketball player she has had some highs and lows in her career, but what makes Kylie special is the way she carries herself in every situation and the way she treats people. Kylie is very well known in the Campbell County community and I鈥檓 sure her basketball talent has something to do with that, but I know she is loved by so many in the community due to her outstanding character.
Her character was what led her to be one of the hardest workers to ever come through the program.聽 As Kylie first entered the program she had a great role model to look up to in Taylor Clos and she took everything Taylor told her and ran with it.聽 Now after her time in the program she will have plenty of girls across Campbell County who will look to her as a role model.
Kylie knew from a young age that in order to reach her goals she had to put the time in, she was constantly asking her coaches to get into the gym to get some shots up or going to lift on her own time.聽 She was extremely dedicated to being the best player that she could be.聽 This led her to reach some big accomplishments during her junior year.聽 She grabbed her 500th rebound on February 19, 2021 against Bourbon County and scored her 1,000th point her junior year on February 23, 2021 against Holy Cross.
Kylie鈥檚 senior year did not go to plan due to suffering a knee injury early in the season, but her impact on the Lady Camels Basketball program was already cemented.聽 Through hard work, treating people the right way, and a love for the game there isn鈥檛 a dream too big. In her career she will finish with 1,253 points and 620 rebounds.
