SHS track gears up for 2022 season
SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. — The Satellite High School track season kicked off with their first required practice on January 31. Many of the team members were out daily conditioning or the start of the season.
There were 14 athletes that participated in an indoor meet in Louisville for an indoor meet on January 7.
鈥淭丑别 kids had a great trip,鈥� coach Butler said. 鈥淭丑别y had a snowball fight, went to Fort Knox and George Patton Museum, toured Louisville University and ran pretty 飞别濒濒.鈥�
Results for the boys team members for the indoor one-mile runs were impressive. Justin Wilson posted a 4:39.57 and finished second in his heat. Dayton Law, Trevor Cross and Aidan Mason finished in the top-3 with times of 4:40.76, 4:41.34, and 4:43.73, respectively. Carson Waggoner and Burke Weisner posted times of 4:56.26 and 5:09.99, respectively, in their heat.
Their first meet will be the preseason classic with 12 schools at Satellite on February 18 at 3:30pm. They also have the Reggie Johnson Invitational coming up on March 4, and the Set Goals Not Limits Distance Showcase on March 18.聽
