Proud moments for Byron Nelson cheerleaders following second straight state title
TROPHY CLUB, Texas — Congratulations to Byron Nelson Varsity Cheer on their State Championship! It has been an amazing experience watching the cheerleaders not only medal the past four years but claim State Championship titles back-to-back!
Coach Bailey Broadstreet shared, 鈥淭aking third in the state in 2019, second in 2020, and being named State Champions in 2021 and again in 2022 is an amazing testament to the talented cheerleaders we have here at Byron. 聽It is because of their passion and determination that our program is so successful. Once they set out to accomplish a goal, nothing can stand in their way.鈥�

Baylee Poindexter, Senior Captain:聽
After winning 3rd聽as a freshman and 2nd聽 as a sophomore, winning state in 2021 was an amazing feeling. We put blood, sweat, and tears into doing the best that we could. Seeing all the hard work we’ve put into this routine reward us not just once but twice is a feeling I will never forget. It means that no matter the controversy and obstacles you face, as long as you believe in yourself and your team you will succeed.
Regan Cearley, Senior Captain:聽
When we won state for the second time it was a feeling I can鈥檛 even describe. My team and I have worked so incredibly hard and pushed through so much adversity to gain that back-to-back state championship title. Everything was all worth it to hear our names called last and to be 2 Time state champions. I was happy not only for myself but for my whole team. We each put in so much effort. I am prouder than ever!

Being back-to-back champions is a dream come true! It completely changed my mindset on what my team and I can accomplish, and the hardships we are able to overcome and defeat!
