Big plays and big grades for Fall season athletes at Lubbock Coronado
LUBBOCK, Texas — The Fall sports programs at Lubbock Coronado produced great results on the fields and courts. The Tennis and Volleyball team each made the playoffs, the football team were district champs and the track team sent a runner to the state meet for Cross Country.
While they are very proud of the success in athletics, they are extremely proud of the number of students that made the THSCA Academic All State Team, with their Volleyball squad in particular, Coronado placed 5 athletes on that team of academic standouts, including Madison Booe, Riley Flores, Keana Pope, Caroline Willcoxon and Hailey King making the distinguished list.
The Mustang football team placed an amazing 12 kids on the all state list. Trevor Stephens, Jaxon McCanlies, Will Boyles, Dylan Boyd, Grant Cannon, Ryan Edwards, Diego Lopez, Coleton Lim, Carson Shields, Isaiah Pedroza and Antonio Malone were the students recognized.
Coach Mann states 鈥渉e is very excited to be around kids that are dedicated to being a great athlete and student.” As of January 20th the Coronado football team reached 100 offers to play college football.聽 “Coronado will continue to strive to have top notch athletic programs but we are also excited about the new academic programs coming to Coronado.”
