Aidyn Woodall continues to excel on and off the field
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — Douglas County High School hit the jackpot when Aidyn Woodall first stepped onto campus her freshman year. Since she was young, she has been working on her craft in all different sports. Between soccer, basketball and cross country, she has found a way to help her team compete each year.
While taking no days off, Woodall also stays on top of her game inside of the classroom. Last December, she was named the Colorado High School Athletics Association High School Athlete of the Week because of her 4.2 GPA and hard work on the field.
Becoming a student athlete is difficult in today鈥檚 age. But it is even more difficult to become a three-sport student athlete. Attendance to practice and offseason workouts takes up most young athletes鈥� time. Her dedication to all three shows why she dominates during the game.
鈥淪occer is my favorite sport and cross country is definitely a very close second,鈥� she . 鈥淚 am currently looking at both for college, soccer as my main and cross country as a backup. I鈥檓 hoping to continue both in college and see where that leads me.鈥�
Having the ability to play at the college level isn鈥檛 usually in the cards for most high school athletes. Woodall has the choice to play two or three different sports. She has been preparing for this moment long before her high school career started.
Woodall doesn鈥檛 settle. Over the last four years, she has won the cross country regional championship four times. Again, most athletes would be looking to win a regional once. But not Woodall, that isn鈥檛 enough. She has her eyes on the big prize, a state championship.
鈥�(She is) the epitome of a student athlete,鈥� the CHSAA, her coaches and administrators . 鈥淏eyond all of her achievements in competition and the classroom, Aidyn inspires those around her and always tries to build people up.鈥�
Colorado has seen incredible athletes throughout the years. From football to swimming, there is no lack of talent in this state. Woodall can add herself to that list as well. She can do it all in any sport and will do whatever it takes to win.
With only half of her senior year left to capture a state title, Woodall will continue to battle on the hardwood, pitch and track. Keep your eyes out for her at the next level, we could be watching the next Colorado high school star athlete and not even know it yet.
