Taylor Wolf was force to be reckoned with for Marquette volleyball

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Marquette University’s Taylor Wolf was honored for her stunning play this past season.

Graduate Student Taylor Wolf earned an Honorable Mention as an AVCA All-American Athlete in NCAA Division I Volleyball. Her notoriety has come as a result of her 8 triple-doubles from this past fall. She has also earned honors as a member of the AVCA All-East Region Team this past season. Her All- American accolade however was the fourth in her NCAA career.

This past season, Taylor Wolf was among the conference leaders in a multitude of categories. She ranked 9th in hits in the Big East Conference, as well as 10th in kills, and 12th in assists. Prior to this award, Wolf had been given the honor of Big East Player of the Year, which she shares with Redshirted senior Rachele Rastelli from St John’s University.

Wolf, the product of Waconia, Minn, has earned 17 honors and awards in her two years as Marquette Eagle. Previous to her graduate education, she spent her undergrad at the University of Wisconsin where she played for the Green Bay Phoenix. She has been a dominating presence since her freshman year back in 2017. She started making headlines earning All-League Honors in the Horizon League, and was named Freshman of the Year as well. She also led her team in kills in the 33 games she participated in that season.

It did not take too much time for her to move to the top of her conference. By her sophomore season, she was already able to earn Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year Honors for the Horizon League. She defended her titles in 2019 by earning those previously mentioned awards in back-to-back seasons. 2019 was also Taylor Wolf’s last season with Green Bay.

Wolf will certainly be missed moving forward at Marquette. She helped the program reach the Big East Title game this past November. They did unfortunately fall short of victory after losing three straight sets to Creighton University. Marquette did however have a remarkable regular season finishing 16-2 with a tie for first place in the conference. Despite their conference championship loss, Marquette earned an invitation to the NCAA championship but was eliminated in the first round by the University of Dayton in four sets after losing 3 out of 4. The Eagles next year will begin again the hunt for their second Big East Title, after earning their first back in 2013 at Creighton University.
