Lovejoy Lady Leopards win 3rd straight UIL 5A State Volleyball Championship
LUCAS, Texas — The Lovejoy Lady Leopard volleyball team won its 3rd straight UIL 5A state volleyball championship and ninth title overall after beating Grapevine in three straight sets 25-19, 25-15, 25-20.
Averi Carlson was named MVP. Hannah Gonzalez had six kills and nine blocks as the Lady Leopards dominated the Mustangs. The team was led by head coach Natalie Puckett. In addition, the Dallas Morning News named Averi Carlson Volleyball Player of the Year, Rosemary Archer as Setter of the Year, and Natalie Puckett as Coach of the Year.
