RICHMOND, Va. (BVM) — As one of the best wide receivers in the country in the Class of 2022, St. Christopher鈥檚 School Andre Greene Jr. had a highly-anticipated college decision ahead of him. After announcing a final three of Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina, the senior standout made his official college decision in the St. Christopher gymnasium on Nov. 17 by signing to UNC.

The commitment is another win for Mack Brown and his Tar Heels as Greene now gives UNC their 10th ESPN 300 commit in the class. The signing also shows a trend of dominance in Virginia for Brown鈥檚 coaching staff as Greene becomes the fifth ESPN 300 and seventh overall player to commit from the state in the Class of 2022 joining top recruits Zach Rice, Tychaun Chapman and George Pettaway, among others.

Greene was a standout on a strong St. Christopher鈥檚 Saints team as he hauled in 41 receptions for over 800 yards and 15 touchdowns as well as adding two interceptions when asked to line up as a defensive back. The Saints finished the season with a 10-1 record before falling to Benedictine 28-14 in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association semifinals.

In addition to the news that Greene would be taking his talents to the next level, it was also revealed during the ceremony that the senior wideout would participate in the 2021 Under Armour All-America Game, the premiere bowl event for top high school seniors to show their skills against their peers, which will take place on Jan. 2, 2022 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The senior wideout is only the second player in Saints program history to make the All-American game roster, joining Class of 2015 member Garrett Taylor. Greene will be by his fellow Virginia UNC commits Rice, Chapman and Pettaway.

With his decision to join the Heels, Greene will likely help convert many Virginia-based football fans to Carolina Blue. As one of a handful of top players in the state to join Brown鈥檚 unit, the likelihood of seeing more UNC gear in the center of Virginia is great. As Greene prepares to join the Heels, he will have one more opportunity to show the country what he can do under the bright lights during the All-American game.
