Martin County HS football team ends season undefeated
STUART, Fla. — As the 2021 football season has come to a close here on the Treasure Coast, the Martin County Tigers have cause for celebration. Finishing the regular season with a 31-7 win over Jensen Beach, the Tigers not only walked away undefeated for the season, but they also took home the 2021 County Championship/Fergie Ferguson Trophy. Their win also secured them a spot as the #2 seed in the 2021 Regional Playoffs where they brought their best offense and defensive strategies to the November 12th playoff game against the Viera Hawks.
Led by Coach Rod Harris, the Martin County Tigers have had a successful two-year run. The victory for this season lies in their veteran defense team. In the season-ending game against Jensen Beach, Garrett Slone had 14 tackles, Senior linebacker Hudson McKinney had 10 tackles, and Kamari Haston completed 8 tackles. Their offense was just as impressive, allowing them to score 31 points for the game. Senior quarterback Jaxon Scott led the plays that saw Jerome Hutchinson run for a game total of 209 yards, with an 80-yard touchdown run.
Martin County is proud of every single player on the Tiger鈥檚 roster, and we鈥檙e all looking forward to witnessing another record-breaking season next year!
