University of North Carolina-Greensboro Cross Country performs well in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – On a beautiful Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky, UNC Greensboro鈥檚 men and women鈥檚 cross-country teams laced up their spikes for their third meet of the season this weekend. The Spartans faced off against their rivals in the Big South. Many of the best Division I schools in the south competed at the 20th Annual Live in Louisville XC Classic Invitational meet.
On the men鈥檚 side, the Spartans, who were recently ranked as the No. 15 team in the Southeast Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, finished in fourth place in the Big South with 546 points and 22nd overall in their 8-kilometer race behind High Point University. The Spartans were led by Dylan Christopher, who placed 91st overall with a personal record time of 24:49.
On the female鈥檚 side, the Spartans also finished in fourth place in the Big South with 819 points and 33rd overall in their 5-kilometer race behind High Point University鈥檚 women鈥檚 team. The Spartans were led by Jenna Reiter, who placed 109th overall with a personal record time of 18:12.
The Spartan鈥檚 next race will take place on Oct.15 at the ECU Pirate Invitational.
