Tennessee women鈥檚 soccer coach Brian Pensky keeps racking up career accolades
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (BVM)聽 The name Brian Pensky is starting to become a household name on Rocky Top.
The head coach of the Lady Vols soccer team has made a reputation for himself in not just Lady Vol lore, but Tennessee coaching lore. He has quickly turned this team into a powerhouse full of offensive firepower and a stifling defensive effort that refuses to quit.
Early on in this new season of women鈥檚 college soccer, the Tennessee Lady Vols have quickly turned themselves into one of the teams to beat this year. Under Coach Pensky, they got off to a hot start, putting seven straight wins up in the win column all while allowing a grand total of zero goals.
The most recent accomplishment for Coach Penksy was picking up his 100th career win at the helm of the Lady Vols. Unfortunately, this win was picked up on the road against Tennessee Tech, but the Lady Vol faithful gave their applause and congratulations to the coach in their return home game the following weekend.
100 wins at UT = A whole lot of Big Orange Gatorade. 馃帀馃槏 馃挦

Coach Pensky is in his 10th year of coaching the Lady Vols and has had .500 records or better every year he has been at Tennessee. Before gracing Regal Stadium and the campus of UT, Pensky was the coach at the University of Maryland for seven years where he had a 67-53-20 record.
Prior to coaching women鈥檚 soccer, Pensky was the coach of the men鈥檚 team at Maryland where he took the Terrapins to three consecutive College Cups and boasted a 57-14-3 record.
Throughout his coaching career, Pensky has recorded a record of 165-108-45 which equates to a .590-win percentage.
In 2018, Pensky led the Lady Vols to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time in program history after finishing the season at 16-3-3 and reaching as high as the No. 8 spot in the top 25 in the country according to the NCAA RPI rankings.
The Lady Vols were a powerhouse in the 2019 season, where they had a 9-6-3 record but recorded an 8-2 record at Regal Stadium. Home field advantage has its perks, and the way that Pensky has built this program over the last nine seasons is something to behold.
While at Tennessee, Pensky has led the Lady Vols to five seasons of 10 or more wins, an SEC Tournament semifinal appearance, NCAA Tournament appearances in 2012, 2017 and 2018 and captured the SEC East title last season, beating out Vanderbilt. Having gained more and more national prowess, the Lady Vols have picked up some great names on the recruiting trail. Without the success that Pensky built when forming these Lady Vol teams, they may not be as good as they are now as they are currently boasting a 10-1 record after picking up back-to-back overtime thrillers and a monster win against Texas A&M.
If Pensky keeps it up with this Lady Vol team, do not be surprised if you hear that name during a deep run in the postseason. No matter how this season ends up for Coach Pensky and the Lady Vols, they will keep getting better year in and year out.
biscuits with the boss.
