The seniors of the Bay City Central Golf Team shine on their senior day at Bay County Golf Course
BAY CITY, Mich. — The weather wasn鈥檛 pleasant. It was drizzling until noon, leaving the courses wet. It isn鈥檛 easy to play golf in such weather. But the Bay City Central seniors on the school鈥檚 girls golf team didn鈥檛 let this weather ruin their senior day. Although it wasn鈥檛 easy.
The Wolves had a total team score of 234, and four seniors fronted them at Bay County Golf Course. They played well, and despite the weather, they didn鈥檛 let their performance go down.
Head coach Kurt Legner appreciated his team鈥檚 incredible performance given the circumstances.
鈥淭he conditions were not ideal, but they still gave it their best,鈥� he said.
The Wolves finished behind the Bay City Western and Saginaw Heritage.
The performance of some players from the Wolves was worth mentioning. Stephanie Ramos fired 53, Jenna Ciesla 54, Elise Gourd 61 and Beth Light 66. Her 54 on the day established a new low for senior Ciesla.
The senior performances allowed the Wolves to finish third behind Bay City Western and Saginaw Heritage, not bad given the difficult weather conditions.
