CSU Women’s Basketball sees veteran staff members move on
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (BVM) – The CSU Rams’ bench will look quite a bit different for the upcoming 2021-22 women’s basketball season.
Last month, director of basketball operations Brooke Butkovsky left the program to pursue other professional opportunities in the Fort Collins area. Butkovsky has been replaced by longtime Rams athletic administrator, Marcie Johnston, who had a previous stint with the women’s basketball staff and head coach Ryun Williams from 2016-18.
Just this past week, the Rams also removed assistant coach Kellie Lewis from the team’s website. Lewis joined the Rams’ staff in 2018 as an assistant coach after serving as Florida Atlantic University’s head coach from 2012-17.
Lewis also has previous stops at Nebraska, Washington and Bishop Kelly high School in Boise, Idaho.
Lewis leaves Fort Collins after three seasons to join the coaching staff for Mountain West conference foe San Diego State. In the Covid-19-marred 2020-21 campaign, the Rams finished third in the conference (11-5) while the Aztecs finished ninth (5-12).
The Rams defeated the Aztecs twice last season – both games in Fort Collins. As of Monday evening, Lewis’ successor on the Ram’s bench had not been named.
