Moskovits named Warner University athletic director

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. (BVM) —  Following a path that led her through every dimension of Warner University, Chrissy Moskovits, formerly of Crystal River High School, is making history. The former Pirate has been named the first woman athletic director in Warner University’s 57-year history.

After beginning her journey at CRHS as a member of the volleyball, softball and first-ever weightlifting team, Moskovits found her true calling in volleyball. She went on to none other than Warner University for her undergraduate degree, sparking what would turn out to be a successful career in volleyball.

As a student, Moskovits played for fun around campus, keeping her name in the volleyball loop as much as possible. To her surprise, she was hired as the assistant women’s volleyball coach soon after her graduation. From there, a long and successful career blossomed, as she left to become the head coach at South Eastern University, and then returned to Warner as its sports information director.

Eventually, after some more bouncing around, Moskovits was hired at Warner as the head coach for the women’s volleyball team and even coached a year of men’s volleyball. She founded the school’s beach volleyball team, which is still functioning. She is even the longest-tenured Royals volleyball head coach to date.

But now, with more responsibility than ever as the athletic director, Moskovits will have to step away from the court. However, it’s worth it to have the honor of being the first woman AD in Warner history, a school she has been tied to for most of her adult life.
