Fourth Texan joins RiverHawk women鈥檚 basketball program
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (BVM) 鈥� On May 10th, the Northeastern State women鈥檚 basketball team added another standout player. This time, the RiverHawks added a Coffeyville Community College transfer, Kailyn 鈥淜K鈥� Lay.
After helping lead the Red Ravens to a 15-7 overall record this year, Lay decided to play for coach Fala Suiaunoa. While Lay was with the Red Ravens, the team had an overall record of 40-14.

The 5-foot-5 guard from Frisco, Texas averaged 6.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists. Lay also proved to be a standout player after this past season. She was nationally ranked No. 22 in assists and during the course of the season, and she had two games with at least 10 assists.聽
鈥淜K is an outstanding point guard,” NSU women鈥檚 head basketball coach Fala Suiaunoa . “Her ability to facilitate an offense, be a scoring option when needed and play hard defensively makes her a total package. She’s got great instincts and court vision and doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. She will bring IQ and maturity to the point guard position, and we look forward to her JUCO experience helping her transition quickly into the program.鈥�
With Lay joining the RiverHawks, her ability and her playing style add to an already impressive recruiting class. With Lay on the roster, the RiverHawks will set their sights on improving from their 6-16 record from last year.聽
