Westborough volleyball continues undefeated season
WESTBOROUGH, Mass. (BVM) — In a game of unbeatens, Westborough volleyball made sure to come out on the winning end. The high-profile matchup of Westborough and Algonquin didn’t disappoint as the Rangers continued their winning ways in a close 3-2 game.
After starting their season 10-0, the Rangers’ perfect record hung in balance until the final serve made by junior Christine Li. With a 14-13 lead in the final set, Li came up with the game–winning ace in the team’s five–set victory. Li got some help along the way with freshman Quinn Anderson picking up a team–high 16 kills and senior Ella Hilfinger recording 9 kills.
The effort from Westborough clinches the Central Mass. Pod 4 title. The perfect 11-0 season comes off Westborough’s 16-6 season in 2019, where the Rangers were taken down in the playoffs by Canton High School. Â
With the volleyball season up in the air heading into the year, the Rangers are happy to leave their stamp on the 2021 season.
