Shadewald commits to play volleyball at Wright State

PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. (BVM) — It was announced on April 1 but it wasn’t an April ¹ó´Ç´Ç±ô²õ’ joke. Sauk Prairie high school junior Aida Shadewald announced via Twitter that she was committing to play volleyball at Wright State University.

Shadewald is coming off a junior season that saw her named first-team All-State in Division I by the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association. The 6-foot outside hitter had 409 kills and 354 digs as she helped lead the Eagles to a 23-6 record and a state semifinal appearance.

Sauk Prairie would end up losing to Hamilton 25-13, 25-11, 25-23.

Shadewald still has one more year of high school remaining, but this year the Wright State Raiders have gone 16-1 and won a Horizon League Championship. They’ll play Samford in the first round of the NCAA National Tournament.
