USC commit Michael Jackson III talks fit with Trojans
LAS VEGAS (BVM) 鈥 Michael Jackson III is the in the state of Nevada and committed to the University of Southern California in hopes of following the lineage of former Trojan wideouts to play in the NFL.听
鈥淵ou want to have that chance to go to the NFL,鈥 Jackson III said. 鈥淚 would say USC has put its receivers in the NFL in seven of the last 10 years. That was pretty big for me, of course I want to get there and play at the next level after college.鈥
The four-star Desert Pines wideout received over 30 scholarship offers, but chopped his list down to just three schools (USC, Oregon and Texas) before committing to the Trojans in June.

Jackson III said he鈥檚 seen high school athletes choose their college destination based on their childhood dream school or uniforms, but his decision was rooted in academics.
鈥淔ootball is not going to last forever so you want to go in having that plan on if you get hurt because there鈥檚 no guarantee you stay healthy,鈥 Jackson III said. 鈥淯SC is one of the top-ranked schools in the country educationally so that was kind of a no-brainer right there.鈥
On the field, the fit makes even more sense. From Keyshawn Johnson to Robert Woods, JuJu Smith-Schuster and so on and so forth, USC has shown the ability for decades to send successful wide receivers to the NFL for productive careers. The rich history of the position at USC, coupled with offensive coordinator Graham Harrell鈥檚 air raid offense — which will allow Jackson III to play in a scheme he鈥檚 familiar with 鈥 made for a decision that was made with confidence.
鈥淵ou get pulled in different directions, but I just had to sit down with my family and make sure I鈥檓 making a mature decision,鈥 Jackson III said. 鈥淚 asked God for guidance and it was kind of obvious which school was best for me, and that was USC.鈥
100% COMMITTED…
