Tayshawn Bridges hasn鈥檛 played a high school game yet but people are already taking notice

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (BVM) — Tayshawn Bridges is considered one of the top high school basketball players in the Class of 2024.

鈥淚 realized I could play at a high level once my first mixtape came out and started to get positive comments,鈥 Bridges said.

Bridges has impressed many with his play at the point guard position. Playing for Wisconsin Playground Club in AAU tournaments across the country, he entered the conversation of best player in the nation.

This past summer as an eighth grader, he continued to impress observers. Although due to COVID-19, people would have to watch from afar.

鈥淎t first it was frustrating,鈥 Bridges said.

However, there was a bright side. Most of his games were live streamed on sites like BallerTV, so people were still able to watch Bridges outperform the best young basketball talent that the nation had to offer.

Colleges took note and by June he was receiving scholarship offers from DI programs like Grambling State, Auburn, and Florida State.

鈥淚t鈥檚 been a blessing,鈥 Bridges said.

Now that he is entering high school at Brookfield East, he is looking to build on the great foundation he has created for himself.

鈥淢y goals for high school are to succeed academically and to win state all four years,鈥 Bridges said.

Bridges鈥 talent will certainly give the Spartans a chance to improve off their section semifinal game to town rivals Brookfield Central.

Bridges’ high school career will be one to pay attention to no matter how the Spartans fare. Already one of the top players in the country, his talent will only rise as many more people will tune in to see where he chooses to attend college.
