Top-ranked center picks Arizona State, Hall of Fame coach
TEMPE, Ariz. (BVM) 鈥� It鈥檚 safe to say that Kevin Mawae knows talent at the center position when he sees it. The 16-year NFL veteran played in eight Pro Bowls, is now a member of Arizona State鈥檚 offensive staff and a large reason why the Sun Devils just landed the No. 1 center in the country.
Ezra Dotson-Oyetade, a four-star 2021 recruit from Lakeview Centennial High School in Texas, announced his decision to play football at Arizona State on Monday via Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound offensive lineman is ranked by as the top-ranked center and the 42nd-ranked player in the state of Texas. Dotson-Oyetade also strongly considered Missouri, Virginia and Vanderbilt, among a handful of other offers, but the opportunity to be coached by a Hall of Famer couldn鈥檛 be passed up.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a great opportunity,鈥� Dotson-Oyetade told. 鈥淏eing coached by a Hall of Fame center, I can鈥檛 wait to see how far we go. I believe I can get better in a lot of areas and once I do I believe we can do some great things.

The Sun Devils now have 20 verbal commits with six of them being offensive lineman, a sign of Mawae鈥檚 influence on successfully recruiting the position.
